Local Wood Use Research Fellow
Smokey House Center is looking to hire a part-time Local Wood Use Research Fellow to work alongside project partners to develop a resource that identifies the tree species and wood materials to prioritize incorporating into the pilot structure. This resource will be used to inform the design and build team’s efforts and will eventually be developed into a resource used by green builders statewide who want to align their building practices to promote ecologically sound and climate adaptive forest management strategies that supply local, climate-smart housing in the region.

Climate Adaptive Maple Program Coordinator
Smokey House Center’s Climate Adaptive Maple Program Coordinator will oversee the development and implementation of all aspects of the Climate Adaptive Maple Program. This position will coordinate all research and education initiatives related to the program including implementing long-term maple research in Smokey House Center’s sugarbushes, organizing educational workshops and producer training on site, implementing an annual young maple producer internship program in the early spring, and any other work directly involved in moving the program forward. This position will report directly to the Program Director and will work in collaboration with other Smokey House Center staff to accomplish program goals.
